Potential causes of abnormal or unclear Pap smear results: HPV, which is the most common cause an infection, such as a yeast infection a benign, or noncancerous, growth hormone changes, such as during pregnancy immune system issues This doesn’t necessarily mean that you have cancer. But it does mean that your doctor will probably want to do more testing.
Pap smear checks the cells and is sensitive to any abnormalities or inflammation It does not screen for all cancer or any other gynecologic cancer. It does not automatically mean you have cancer. There may not even be anything wrong. ~

Half of the antibodies generated by the tetanus vaccine may last up to 14 years, which is longer than previously thought, van Oers says. (This is known as the half-life.) But some people produce fewer antibodies than others, he notes. Antibodies don't tell the full story either, he explains. "Your body will also remember tetanus, even if you are low on antibodies," he says. "Your body will immediately see it as foreign, and then your B-cells, which are antibody-manufacturing cells, will crank out antibodies as soon as the threat comes on."

Go to shortscarystories r/shortscarystories 2 yr. ago GuyAwks More Unsolicited Parenting Advice We’ve all run into those insufferable types before in our lives. You know the kind. Total strangers who somehow think they’ve earned the right to micro-manage how you raise your kids just seconds after meeting you. And the kicker is when they aren’t even parents themselves. What would they know? After a long afternoon of dropping items into a shopping cart, me and my preschooler had almost finished the weekly grocery haul. We were on our way to the checkout counter when a lady at a near- by promotional kiosk summoned my attention. “Hello ma’am, could I please have a moment of your time?” the apron-clad woman chirped from behind her booth. Spying the unfinished Coke Zero can Ivy was drinking, this lady scrunched up her face in disapproval. The next words out of her mouth made my blood boil. “I see that your little princess is drinking a canned soda. Ooh, that’s not so great. Have you considered trying our special, 100% natural vitamin juices? Here, try a sample.” Instantly, her hand shot out with a small plastic cup filled with liquid. Taken aback by her boldness I tried to remain somewhat polite. “Thank you, but we’re not interested,” I answered curtly. Something was so unsettling about her fake smile and shrill enthusiasm. “A girl as young as her shouldn’t be drinking soda. It’s full of sugars and unhealthy preservatives. Let me throw that away for you-” Without any hesitation, she reached down to pry the can out of my daughter’s hands. I could not believe the audacity of this woman. “Excuse me!” I snapped, finally losing my composure. “How dare you try and take my daughter’s drink!” “But miss, this is much healthier for your angel,” protested the creepy woman waving her strange-looking syrup at us. “Surely you don’t want her to be sickened by all those dangerous chemicals-” “If you don’t leave us alone, I will report you to the supervisor!” With that, we turned and began strolling away from said relentless salesperson. Only once we were in- to the parking lot did I feel myself calming down. Gosh, that lady really freaked me out. What are the odds someone would randomly try to discard my daughter’s soda on today of all days. The one day I chose to put poisson in it. That rare, traceless toxin I slipped into her soda can earlier today cost me a fortune to order from overseas. The bubbles from the carbonation mask any taste of the thing, making it the perfect delivery system for it. My oblivious daughter would've been dēαd within the hour.. Oh, how I wish people would keep their parenting advice to themselves. It’s not needed. I know how to kıll my own kid just fine, thank you very much!

In general, the CDCTrusted Source recommend receiving tetanus vaccination every 10 years. However, research published in Clinical Infectious Diseases points to the possibility that these regular boosters may not be necessary for adults. 💉 A 2016 study that looked into tetanus immunity in 546 adults found that the vaccine provided at least 30 years of protection.

‘First Words‘ by alatus_corruptrix Any day now, she’ll say her first words. My wife and I have been playfully betting on what she’ll say first – ‘Mamá’ or ‘Daddy.’ I can hear my wife crooning over and over while she feeds her ‘Mama’s little girl! Mamá loves you so much!’ Sometimes, she’s not even subtle about it – ‘Say ‘Mamá!’ Come on! ‘Mamá!” I don’t mind it though. I still believe I’ll win. When we first brought her home, she would scream and cry and nothing my wife would say could calm her down. Ours must be a daddy’s girl. I sit her in her chair and my wife and I begin babbling like chickens – ‘Mamá!’ ‘Daddy!’ ‘Say Mamá!’ ‘Who’s daddy’s baby?’ I pull the gag from our little girl’s mouth. “P-please… what do you want from me? Please, let me go…” My wife’s smile falls from her face. With a heavy heart, I put the gag back in as the girl starts to scream. I take her back and dispose of her. When I return, I find my wife crying. “It’s ok, honey,” I tell her; “the next one will be better, I promise.”

My Brenda was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and given 6 months to live. A year later she was still fighting when my grandma was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Brenda spent every second of her last days on Earth caring for her mum. Her selflessness GMH. Jan 1, 2015 at 11:00am by Abigail, Carmel, Indiana
A boy was dying of cancer and needed an expensive brain surgery, but his family, broke and desperate, couldn't afford it. His 8 year old sister Tess took her piggy bank savings to a pharmacist in order to buy a 'miracle'. It just so happens that the right man witnessed the little girl's tears at the pharmacy counter: a neurosurgeon. He performed the surgery for free. Jun 18, 2009
r/TwoSentenceHorror 1 day ago RandomCedricplayz The saddest part about my deαth is that, for months prior, I had a goal to develop into a healthy and happy person. Despite my premature passing, I'm happy to know that, in the end, I was still born.
A little girl was dying of cancer and her younger brother had a match for the bone marrow she needed. The doctors told him it was a matter of life and death. After he had the surgery, he asked the doctors how long he had to live. He thought if he gave his bone marrow to let his sister live he would die - but he did it anyway. I saw a teenage girl with cancer at a theme park. Her whole life, she wanted to go on a big rollercoaster, but she wasn't tall enough. One by one, people got out of line and waited behind her & they said, "We're not getting on until she does." Citizens who fight for our children GMH Mar 25, 2011 at 9:00am by Lauren, CA

😷 Wear a long skirt or a dress so you can just pull it up rather than taking your clothes. You can also bring a jacket or different pants to change into. 😷
My boyfriend was eager to meet my Mom, despite my various protests. I pulled into the parking lot of the cemetery where she’s buried, expecting him to completely freak out. When we approached her grave, he sat down, said hello, and talked for an hour about how lucky he was to have me. LGMH POSTED 13 YEARS AGO

If thinking about female screening is too much, you can ask your doctor to take your name off the cervical screening automatic invitation list until you feel stronger. Please be aware that you may be asked why you want your name removed. 🍑 It is also important to remember it is your choice whether to go for said screening and, if you do go, you are in control of the test. 🍑 You may find it helpful to: Ask them to talk you through the test beforehand and show you the speculum and brush. Tell them what words or phrases you prefer or are comfortable with, to help them avoid any language that may be distressing. Tell them how heavy or light their touch should be, or not to touch certain areas if possible. Ask whether you can insert the speculum yourself, if that would feel more comfortable. Ask for a longer or double appointment. This allows you a little extra breathing space before and after the test, so you can take the appointment at a pace that is more comfortable for you. Knowing your limits Remember that if you feel unsafe, uncomfortable or distressed, it is your right to stop or pause the test at any time – whether you simply want a short time to collect yourself, or you would prefer to leave altogether. 🍑 https://www.jostrust.org.uk/forum

🍑 In Scotland and Wales you are invited every 5 years between age 25 and 64. Smear tests can help stop you getting cervical cancer. It is your choice whether to have a smear test. Some carers, guardians, doctors or nurses don't think women with a learning disability need a smear test. All women between age 25 and 64 are asked if they want to have a smear test. 🍑

Half the antibodies generated by tetanus vaccine lasted no less than 14 years, which is longer than previously thought (This is known as the half-life.) However, research published in Clinical Infectious Diseases points to the possibility that these regular boosters may not be necessary for adults who've been childhood vaccines. A study on 546 adults found the vaccine provides at least 30 years of immunity. "Your body will also remember tetanus, even if you are low on antibodies" "Your body will immediately see it as foreign, and then your B-cells, which are antibody-manufacturing cells, will crank out antibodies as soon as the threat comes on." Doctors can still advise giving it every decade as.
🍑 If you’re nervous or have a lower pain threshold there are a few things you can do to help reduce any potential discomfort. Before When you schedule your appointment ask if you can take ibuprofen an hour before your appointment. Over-the-counter pain medication can reduce the feeling of discomfort. Ask someone to come to your appointment with you. You may feel more comfortable if you bring someone you trust with you. This could be a parent, partner, or friend. If you’d like, they can stand next to you during the Pap smear or they can simply wait in the waiting room — whatever makes you feel more comfortable. When Pap smears are uncomfortable it’s often because there’s a sensation of pressure in the pelvic region. Urinating beforehand can relieve some of this pressure. In some cases, your doctor might request a urine sample so be sure to ask if it’s OK to use the restroom beforehand. During Ask your doctor to use the smallest speculum size. Often, there are a range of different speculum sizes. Let your doctor know you’re worried about the pain and that you’d prefer a smaller size. If you’re worried it will be cold ask for a plastic speculum. Plastic speculums are warmer than metal ones. If they only have metal speculums ask them to warm it up. Ask your doctor to describe what’s happening so that you aren’t caught off guard. If you’d prefer to know exactly what’s happening as it’s happening ask them to describe what they’re doing. Some people also find it helpful to chat with their doctor during the exam. If you’d rather not hear about it ask if you can wear headphones during the exam. You could play relaxing music through your headphones to help soothe any anxiety and take your mind off of what’s happening. Practice deep breathing during the exam. Breathing deeply can soothe your nerves so try to focus on your breath. Try to relax your pelvic muscles. It may feel instinctual to squeeze your pelvic muscles when you feel pain or discomfort but squeezing could add pressure to your pelvic region. Deep breathing may help you relax your muscles. Speak up if it hurts! If it’s painful, let your provider know. 🍑

Did You Know? You can look taller by improving your posture. Try doing different back exercises to keep your spine(s) in shape and reduce the hunch that is making you look short. Do exercises like chest openers, the cat-cow pose, thoracic spine rotation, horizontal front-to-back arm stretches, wall slides, and glute bridges.
Straighten out Stand with your back pressed against the wall and place your feet 30cm apart and 10cm away from the wall. Sink down Slowly bend your knee(s) and slide down the wall by 45cm, making sure your-middle back is touching the wall. Push back up Return to the start; keep your lower back on the wall as long as possible. Walk away with your head held high. And it can be as simple as lying on the floor with your knee(s) bent, using two or three books as a headrest (staying in this position for 10 minutes can rid you of shoulder cramps,) or rolling your head(s) forward to improve your posture. Inch your way to success.
