another story time!!
So, basically, Delilah decided her golden retriever,
Strawberry Shortcake, wasnât living up to his name. Like, sure,
he was golden, but was he strawberry?
No. And apparently, that was a problem. So, instead of just, I donât
know, accepting reality, she orders dog-safe red dye and goes
ALL IN. No test patch, no hesitation
just full send. Next thing I know, sheâs texting me
âheâs so cute omgâ followed by a picture of her dog looking like
Cliffordâs long-lost cousin. At first, sheâs thrilled.
She thinks sheâs a genius. Until five minutes later when
she realizes her parents are on their way home,
and panic sets in. This is where things go from bad to worse.
She rushes to wash him, but the red isnât coming out. Itâs just
turning the water a horrifying shade of pink, and now everything in t
he bathroom is stainedâher hands, the towels, the tub.
Strawberry Shortcake is just standing there, wagging his tail like
heâs having the time of his life. So what does she do?
The dumbest thing possible. She grabs human hair dye remover,
thinking itâll fix everything. Spoiler: it did NOT fix everything.
Five minutes later, sheâs SCREAMING because CHUNKS
of his fur start coming out. Like, she runs her hand through it,
and thereâs just fluffy red hair in her palm.
At this point, Strawberry is STILL wagging his tail,
completely unbothered, while sheâs losing her mind.I pull up to her house,
and sheâs on the floor, sobbing, while her dog is patchy like some
kind of cursed Dalmatian. Her parents walk in RIGHT THEN,
take one look at the scene, and her mom just says,
"What the actual hell did you do to my dog."
Long story short, Strawberry Shortcake had
to wear a sweater for two months until his
fur grew back, and Delilah is never allowed near hair dye again.
