mfw i see a disorder that’s heavily romanticised and rising in popularity with certain groups of ppl on tiktok/discord ect and i decide to take that disorder and use it as a personality trait (bc i had no personality before) and create a whole fool’s act and bury myself into even more delusions, pick out the small bad bits that happened in my childhood, call it “trauma” and make it harder for actual traumatised ppl to get an accurate diagnosis and then start being much more open about a disorder that i clearly very likely don’t have, and then spread this whole thing into a larger community with sometimes even literal children and coax these ppl into believing that they have this disorder too and once again making it harder for others (outside of this community) who went through unimaginable stuff, then i- sorry we mean we make these absolute bs concepts to make it “easier” for communities to self diagnose theirselves, and then we get fact-checked by “fakeclaimers”: 🤯

We don’t know much about DID/OSDD, don’t pretend like you do, even a lot of physiologists aren’t sure. “And I care so much because” honestly I don’t even think you do??? 😭 I do agree that most people don’t suffer from DID but it isn’t the “ooo ultra rare extremely rare disorder!” I’m pretty sure it’s more diagnosed then conditions like ASPD. DID alone is like what, 1.5% of the population? That’s more then you think. That’s not even counting OSDD and UDD.

Hot Take: I don't think people really understand how rare of a disorder DID is. Literally, 1.3 percent of the ENTIRE WORLD (That's over 8 BILLION PEOPLE) have it. And you see all of these people online (most of which are self diagnosed, or faking it for attention) who claim to have it. By the way, I'm not saying everybody with DID online is faking, there are definitely people who are diagnosed with it and they're valid, I'm just talking about the self diagnosers. Self diagnosing has it's place. I think there are VERY FEW things that you can self diagnose, but usually only do that if you're looking to get help. DID is NOT one of those things! The thing with DID is that part of DID is that your thoughts are often scattered or disorganized, causing you to not always think clearly. Additionally, DID (along with most other mental disorders) requires a PROFFESSIONAL outside opinion and diagnoses. Why? Because DID is often confused with other disorders such as: Bipolar Disorder, BPD (Borlerline Personality Disorder), Schizophrenia, PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), etc. And without an experienced professional, you most likely, will get it mixed up with something else.
