‘Next Time You’ll Know Better’ by IPostAtMidnight Have you ever walked into a room, and found a vampire? The kind that snarls as you enter, like a beast about to pounce? Have you felt time slow as the creature crosses the room in the darkness of a blink? Have you shuddered with fear when it places one clawed hand atop your head and another under your neck? Have you then experienced a sinking, sucking blackness as you discover that not all vampires feed on blood—some feed on memories? Well, have you? Perhaps not. But let me rephrase the question: Have you ever walked into a room, and suddenly forgotten why you came in?

‘A Message From Your Personal Demons’ By MrGarm “I am the worst of your demons, but you see me as a friend.” Hello, my dear. You do not know who I am, but I know you. I am one of the three demons that were assigned to you at birth. You see, some people in this world are destined for greatness, destined to live happy, fulfilling lives. You, I am afraid, are not one of those people, and it is our job to make sure of that. Who are we? Oh yes, of course, how rude of me. Allow me to introduce us: Shame is my younger brother, the demon on your left shoulder. Shame tells you that you’re a freak; that those thoughts you have are not normal; that you will never fit in. Shame whispered into your ear when your mother found you playing with yourself as a child. Shame is the one who makes you hate yourself. Fear sits on your right shoulder. He is my older brother, as old as life itself. Fear fills every dark corner with monsters, and turns every stranger on a dark street into a murderer. Fear stops you from telling your crush how you feel. He tells you it is better not to try than to let people see you fail. Fear makes you build your prison. Who am I, then? I am the worst of your demons, but you see me as a friend. You turn to me when you have nothing else because I live in your heart. I am the one who forces you to endure. The one who prolongs your torment. Sincerely, Hope.
r/shortscarystories 4 yr. ago myymyy Rollercoaster "Mooooom, I don't like it. I want to get off!" I was a bit surprised. He had always been so brave. I was way more afraid than him when we got on. I never liked to be so high up from the ground. "This will be so much fun!", he had said when we were parking the car. I had kinda hoped he would be strong for both of us. "Oh honey, I'm sorry but we can't get off now, the ride has already started. But remember the small rollercoaster, in the park we went to when you were little? With the funny clown? This is just like that, only bigger. And remember how AWESOME it was?" My son looked at me with watery eyes. He had been so excited about this. I tried to swallow my own nervousness and keep talking to calm him down. My voice was shaking a bit, but I managed to put on a smile. "It's okay, it's okay. You might feel a bit funny in your stomach. It's because of the speed and the changes in the force that pushes you. It's normal! Listen, do you hear? Other people are scared too." He looked at me with his kind, blue eyes and nodded. Just barely. I wanted to hug him, but my back was pressing to the seat so heavily I couldn't move enough. So was his. My eyes caught a glimpse of the sun over my sons head. The sky was so bright. I tried to ignore the metallic clanging sound and people screaming somewhere that seemed to be so far away. Oh, how I missed the ground. Then I felt a big drop on my stomach. We were going faster and faster. My son started sobbing and I tightened my grib on his hand. I thought that he would become such a handsome man someday. He would end up having a good life, and marry a nice girl - or a guy, who knows? I didn't care as long as he was happy. That's all I wanted. For him to be happy and not scared. "Hey, you know what? Close your eyes. This will be over soon. I'm here. I'm not letting go." Someone behind us started to scream. I felt my blood run cold. I tried to keep my focus on the one thing that mattered: my sons hand and my calm voice that kept telling him that it was all going to be okay. Oh, he would become such a handsome man someday. But at this moment he was just a 6 year old boy on his first flight, going to surprise his grandparents all the way across the country. And the last thing I saw before I closed my own eyes, was the second engine on fire...
I was starving and lost in the woods until I found a hiker; I'm full now but I just wished she hadnt screamed so loud.

Hidden by the Rustling Corn The shortcut through the Corn field tempts you as you’re walking home the clouds above keep the moon concealed As you enter the swaying corn, alone. - The corn grows tall and thick, my friend, the path you chose is muddy it grows in rows without scope or end and in the dark, you hurry - You don’t see the standing forms As you pass them on your way they stand still amongst the swaying corn which hides their pallor, and decay - hundreds gather in this field tonight though you see none at all yet still you look around in fright but the corn grows too thick, too tall - You tell yourself as you continue through “Its merely the rustling of the leaves,” But they see you, and they hear you, And they might not let you leave.

Haunting your House for Halloween: Decor and Details OCTOBER 13, 2014 / Z. Lots of people find joy in decorating their house for Halloween, but those with a Gothic bent are especially bound to to relish it. These people will take particular care in crafting a beautiful yet bone-chilling atmosphere for their guests… For them, it isn’t so much “decorating” as it is “haunting” the house. Here are some of the easiest and most effective ways to perfect an eerie atmosphere: Cluster Candles. Clustered candles create a haunting and visually interesting focal point. At once reminiscent of somber Gothic cathedrals and spiritualist seances, try turning the lights out and illuminating the room by candlelight alone, as shown in the image below. If you are throwing a dinner party, this kind of lighting will hide any distracting, non-themed parts of the room and will keep guests’ focus on each other as they dine. For an even more magical effect (and double the light), place candles on a mirror or reflective platter. Paint it Black. Everyday items take on a commanding and ominous tone when given a coat of matte black spray paint. Consider painting pumpkins, cheap vases, figurines, candleholders, branches, and wine bottles. Mirror, Mirror. Mirrors have always been a bit uncanny, so use this to your advantage for Halloween! Place fabric or a veiling over the mirrors in the house– this was actually a Victorian mourning tradition to prevent the soul of the deceased from getting “trapped” in the looking glass. Covering all the mirrors in your house will definitely ramp up the creepy factor. You can also make your own haunted mirror (which is I guess what happens if you didn’t cover the mirror?) Eerie Vignettes. For the top of a mantle or table, consider grouping eerie objects together to form a “vignette”. Wilted or dried flowers in a vase beside antique glass bottles work well (below). For the most effective haunting vignette, stack old leather-bound books on a table and top them off with a skull. Phantom Photos. Round up some picture frames you already have, or buy some at a dollar store and paint them a matte black. Print out creepy Victorian-era photos (look up spirit photography) and place them in the frames, then put them around the house where people are bound to see them. Your guests will gradually realize your home is filled with ghostly portraits. Utilize your windows. Cut-out silhouettes always add a element of fun to your haunted house for Halloween, but consider going subtle for a more spooky effect. You can also forgo silhouettes altogether and create a foreboding atmosphere by covering your windows in red tissue paper (your house looks like this, doesn’t it?) Use LED lights as glowing eyes. Nocturnal creatures have tapetum lucidum, a reflective layer on the back of their retina helps them see clear in the dark. If you happen to unwittingly shine a light on an animal’s face, it can create an unnerving effect– two glowing dots stare back at you, disembodied in the dark. You can recreate this effect in your yard or house with a few methods by placing LED lights in film containers. A similar effect can be achieved by placing a glowstick inside a toilet-paper roll with two holes cut out. People passing do a double take as they try to figure out what kind of creature is staring at them– a cat, an owl, or something more sinister?

Skin Deep On Monday she looked beautiful, her skin silky smooth and sleek. Then on Tuesday she was saddened by the pimple on her cheek. Wednesday was a nightmare, the awful blemish grew and grew. On Thursday people stopped and stared; it seemed like everybody knew. Friday left her scrambling, finding cover-up that matched. And early Saturday morning…..it hatched.
Halloween Shopping Tips Posted by 💀MV on OCTOBER 19, 2009 If you’re anything like me, you get a special thrill out of going to the store to shop for Halloween stuff!!! (This is because you’ll probably use it all year, and not just until Halloween’s over.) Here are a few tips on what to look for, and what to avoid, this Halloween when you’re out scavenging for goodies: * CLOTHES: Anything non-seasonal that you can use all year ’round. Look for skeletons, spiders, bats, skulls. If you like pumpkins and will wear pumkin-themed clothing all year, go for it. Buy stuff in any colors you like… I like black & purple, which are easy to find at Halloween! * MAKEUP: Hit the makeup section and see if you can find anything interesting. Always seek black lipstick and nail polish. Also worth having: Lip or nail colors in dark, dramatic, or unusual colors; jewels or other cool accents for the face; “normal” cosmetics in cute gothy containers; special-effects cosmetics or theatrer-type makeup items that are hard-to-find normally (such as eyebrow plastic or spirit gum). * ACCESSORIES: Halloween is the best time of year to find accessories with bats, skulls, or other spooky themes. You can find just about anything you need, with a spooky style… hair accessories, purses, hosiery (gotta love striped stockings!), shoes, wigs, jewelry, and more! * HOME DECOR: Be very careful of items offered in this category, lest you get overly cheesy items in your enthusiasm! You can find some good stuff, though… like skull/death themed pieces, even spooky or cool-looking kitchen ware. DEFINITELY look for candles, as you can get fantastic styles and colors during the season! Be careful of plastic, cheaply or badly-made items. Remember that many of these are meant to be used only for a short time and then tossed away. It may take awhile to find quality items that will last in your home for years, but the efforts are so worth it! * EDIBLES: I like Halloween candy and treats all year ’round. Some of my favorite treats are things like General Mills Monster Cereals, Pillsbury Halloween cookies (just cut and bake), and of course, Halloween Pop Tarts. Many companies are beginning to release special Halloween edition things with either special packaging, or unusually-decorated versions of their regular products, so this is the perfect time of year to stock up! * CRAFT ITEMS: Absolutely nowhere is more fun than a craft store at Halloween… but take my advice and DON’T wait ’til the last minute! You can find all kinds of wonderful things here, to fulfill your crafting fetishes well into next year!! Look for fabric, notions, beads, ribbons, even cool accessories and must-have crafting essentials in creepy Halloween styles! Some craft stores do pre-season Halloween sales in September or even August, as crafty folks will often make their own costumes and come looking for their ingredients in advance. The early bird will catch the cutest stuff!! Latecomers may be surprised by a fantastic rare find or two, but I’d try to hit the craft shops as early in the season as possible. More tips… 1. Timing is key. It’s always best to start browsing as soon as the Halloween stuff goes up, usually around the middle of September. If you see something that you absolutely MUST have, snap it up at your earliest convenience — it may not be there next year, or even next week! You can also try to wait until November 1st to make the most of clearance sales (one of my personal missions in life!), but remember that Halloween stores typically close before then. My favorite place to try on November 1st would be drugstores, as they’re practically giving the stuff away. (The best stuff may be picked over — or gone entirely — if you wait too long!) 2. Location. If you see something that you absolutely MUST have multiples of, in a chain store, try visiting the same stores in different cities. For example, this year I found an awesome coffin container in the Target near my New England home; a few weeks later I visited my in-laws in NYC and came across the same one! (I should have bought it the second time around, but fortunatley coffin number one is in my office now!) 3. If you’re picking through clearance stuff, don’t be afraid to haggle. Lots of Halloween stuff is going to be seriously marked down come the first of November. Some pieces will just be thrown into the clearance bin without even being tagged! One year I found a thick faux dungeon chain (it was made of styrofoam and painted to look metallic and old/rusty) just sitting around with a bunch of cheap Halloween makeup, and even though it wasn’t tagged, the checker “decided” to sell it to me for 99 cents. A true Halloween find! 4. Plan ahead. Make lists of what you need, who’s having sales, or of where you got the best hauls in Halloweens past. Try your favorite “haunts” but don’t be afraid to plunge into uncharted territory. You never know what you’ll find! (My favorite discount store to Halloween shop is definitely Target, as their stuff is high enough in quality to last for many years… as for drugstores, it’s gotta be either CVS or Rite-Aid for their wide selections of makeup and costume-y pieces. I tend to avoid Wal-Mart, which sells cheesy “rustic” fall crap, and Halloween-themed shops, which are mostly filled with overpriced junk. I did get a nice ceramic skull-shaped serving tray at the Halloween store last year, though, so as I said… be flexible, and don’t be scared to travel off your beaten path!) I’ve gotten some good stuff this year so far, but will be making my last Halloween run on November first. Happy hunting, all!
5 Beautiful Gothic movies to watch this Halloween SEPTEMBER 30, 2014 / Z. Halloween, even in its earliest stages, is inherently Gothic. The Gothic tradition is full of collisions between the dead and living, the past and present, the natural and supernatural. Here are just a few Gothic films touch on these themes, and will set the mood for a haunting and beautiful Halloween! The Innocents (1961). Based on Henry James’ 1898 novel The Turn of the Screw, this film is enthralling, beautifully shot, and delightfully creepy. The story follows a young governess stationed in a large Gothic estate, charged with looking after two children. While the kids start acting increasingly strange, she starts to see mysterious figures of a man and a woman throughout the grounds of the estate. The Innocents really is a must-see, though you won’t be able to get a certain melody out of your head after watching it… Häxan: Witchcraft through the ages (1926). Admittedly, I have a soft spot for 1920’s cinema, but even those of you who find silent film boring will be shocked by this one. Häxan is a quasi-documentary on the history of witchcraft, with elaborate reenactments set during various points in history. Not surprisingly, most of the film focuses in Europe in the middle ages, and there is some amazing imagery in these scenes. If nothing else, make sure you watch the unforgettable “Black Sabbath” scene. Rebecca (1940). “Last Night I dreamed I was at Manderly again”… Rebecca is a subtle chiller from Hitchcock that hits on all the major Gothic tropes: an old, creepy mansion on a cliff, a fair maiden inhabiting said mansion, recently married to a man who grows increasingly frightening, an evil housekeeper, a vengeful spirit that just won’t go away… you get the picture. Within the walls of the Manderly estate, the lines between the supernatural, bitter reality, and psychological breakdowns are masterfully blurred, making this a true classic in the Gothic genre. Fall of the House of Usher (1926). There have been several film adaptations of Poe’s short story, but Epstein’s is the dreamiest, in my opinion. Beautiful, surreal shots through haunting bogs and cathedral like mansions are my cup of tea. The combination of the visuals with the eerie, melancholic Medieval-sounding score is perfect. The Woman in Black (2012). Though this is a recent horror film, its pacing and visuals are reminiscent of some of the the older films on this list. It’s a classical Victorian ghost story that’s beautiful to look at and is genuinely creepy—if you can get over the fact that Harry Potter’s in it and he has a son! I hope you find a film or two on this list to be intriguing, if you have a favorite beautiful Gothic chiller you like watching around Halloween time!
Episode Transcript: Sleepy Time Mrs. Puff: (takes his licence and tears it up) Not even in your dreams, Mr. SquarePants! SpongeBob: No! (flies through the dream cloud and on SpongeBob’s real bed) Ouch! Where am I? (walks and looks up to his real self) Is that me? Or is this me? Am I still dreaming? Gary: Meow. (snoring) Meow. SpongeBob: (walks up to Gary's dream cloud) This must be Gary's dream. I'm gonna get a closer look. (jumps into the dream cloud and falls to the ground) Whoa! Wow. Look at all these books. I wonder where Gary is. Gary! Huh? (walks up to Gary reading a book) Excuse me, sir. Have you seen...? (Gary turns around) Gary: SpongeBob? SpongeBob: Gary? Gary: How dare you invade the sanctity of my dreams? SpongeBob: Gary! You can talk! Gary: (sighs) In dreams, one is not tethered by earthly limitations. SpongeBob: What does that mean? Gary: Come. For ages, dreams have been thought of as windows to another realm. (picks up a book and reads from it) "Let me not mar that perfect dream by an aurora stain, but so adjust my daily night that it may come again." Emily Dickinson wrote that. SpongeBob: Who? Gary: (flips a few pages) Here's one you might know. (clears throat) There once was a man from Peru who dreamed he was eating his shoe. He woke with a fright in the middle of the night to find that his dream had come true. SpongeBob: (laughs) Gee Gary, you sure are smart. Gary: Did you think my shell was full of not air? SpongeBob: Well, thanks for the info, Gary. I'm going back to my own dream now. Gary: Beware of your wandering eye, you little poriferan! SpongeBob: (jumps out of Gary's dream cloud and hops up onto his alarm clock to get into his own; sees Patrick's dream cloud outside the window) I wonder what Patrick's dreaming. (Patrick is stuck to the bottom of his rock, sucking his thumb and snoring; SpongeBob runs over) I can't resist! (laughs and jumps in; inside, he opens a door; everything is white, and there is no scenery, just Patrick rocking back and forth on a 25¢ kiddie ride) Hey Patrick! Patrick: Hi SpongeBob. SpongeBob: (walks over) You know Patrick, this is a dream. You can do anything you want. Patrick: Yup. SpongeBob: I mean anything! Watch. I can turn into a skyscraper. (transforms into the shape of a skyscraper) Going up! Eh? (sees that Patrick is unresponsive; looks dull) I can make... a million of me! (changes back to his normal shape and size, this time with a million copies of himself) Eh? Eh? (the clones disappear) Ah, tartar sauce. I'm going to a different dream. (leaves) Patrick: Okay. Bye SpongeBob. (kiddie ride comes to a halt; Patrick reaches into his pocket and pulls out another quarter and goes to put it in the slot, but accidentally drops it and it rolls away) Oh!!! (the quarter falls into a grate) Shoot, that was my last quarter. (sits on the ride with a dull gaze; meanwhile, SpongeBob hops out of the dream cloud and starts to walk down the block; he stops below Squidward's dream cloud) SpongeBob Ooh, this is gonna be good! (sucks in air and floats up into the cloud; inside, Squidward is playing clarinet in front of an applauding crowd; he has a powdered wig on his head) Psst! Squidward! (waving in the audience; Squidward stops playing) Hey, Squidward! Squidward: SpongeBob! (everyone cheers) Squidward: (bows) Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. (a few audience members run up and grab SpongeBob and push Squidward out of the way) What is this instrument that produces such lovely sound? SpongeBob: (turns back to normal and runs away while audience chases him) So long, Squidward! (audience members chase after SpongeBob pushing Squidward into a fruit barrel thing. SpongeBob runs out the door and lands on the top of the tree dome) Hey! I'm at Sandy's! (Sandy sleeping in her tree and SpongeBob jumps in her dream cloud and opens a plane door) Aw, this looks neat! I wonder...(falls out of the plane) Ahh! Sandy: (surfs up on a glide board to SpongeBob) Hey SpongeBob, what brings you here? SpongeBob: Hey Sandy! What's going on? Sandy: (turns upside down) Well, we're free-falling from 114,000 feet, and we're gonna land on that itty-bitty target. (a target is shown on the ground and SpongeBob and Sandy spins around) SpongeBob: This seems kind of dangerous! Sandy: Not as long as you've got a big old parachute! SpongeBob: Okay! (gives her a thumbs-up; both his shoes inflate) Sandy: Not pair of shoes, SpongeBob, parachute! Pearl: Hello, SpongeBob! (sits at a table with a green rabbit and a brown teddy bear, she pours some tea into the bear's cup) SpongeBob: (waves) Oh, Pearl. This is your dream. Pearl: You're just in time for the tea party! SpongeBob: Actually, I was looking for your dad's dream. Pearl: Oh. He's next door. (shakes head in disappointment) Boys don't understand the sophistication of tea parties. Right, Mr. Stuffy? SpongeBob: Bye! (gets out of Pearl's dream and goes over to Mr. Krabs) I bet Mr. Krabs' dream will be more robust. (peeks in the cloud and just floats on his backside in the large ocean until he hits Mr. Krabs boat) Mr. Krabs: (pulls the dollar out of the water and heaves it into the wallet) I did it! (gets excited) I finally did it! SpongeBob: Congratulations, Mr. Krabs. (puts down the wallet and wants to shake hands with Mr. Krabs but when he tries the wallet bounces toward the back of the boat); the wallet bounces away) Mr. Krabs: No, SpongeBob! Don't let it go! SpongeBob: Huh? Mr. Krabs: Get it, SpongeBob! Get it! Get it! Get it! Get it! Get it! (SpongeBob chases after it, but it hops off the back end of the boat) SpongeBob: Hey! Hey! I...! Mr. Krabs: No! (the dollar jumps in the lagoon and swims away) SpongeBob: This'll make a make a great story, eh Mr. Krabs? Mr. Krabs: Oh SpongeBob... SpongeBob: Yes, Mr. Krabs? Mr. Krabs: (throws a rope around him) You're fired! (fires some sort of a plunger inside it to which the rope is attached) SpongeBob: Ahh!!!!!!!! (gets shot out of the dream cloud and into Plankton's dream on a building) Ooh! Must be Plankton's dream. Hey, Plankton's dreaming about Bikini Bottom. Plankton: Zap! (zaps a building near SpongeBob and fish come running out) I see you. (stomps up to another building, twenty times the size of his normal self) Zap! (shoots a green laser out of his eye) Fish: My leg! Plankton: I see you. Zap! SpongeBob: Plankton! (tries to get himself untied from the rope around his ankle) Plankton: I see you...(SpongeBob gets untied and drops to the ground) Zap! (zaps and disintegrates the building that SpongeBob was on then walks to the Krusty Krab) Oh look, it's the Krusty Krab, home of the Krabby Patty. (steps on it) Crush! (picks up the Krusty Krab sign and starts to kick it while walking away) SpongeBob: This isn't a dream, this is a nightmare! Gary: Meow! SpongeBob: (stops and looks) Gary! Gary! No! Gary: Meow! (Plankton still coming towards Gary making giant step sounds) Plankton: Here kitty, kitty, kitty. SpongeBob: Gary!!! (jumps for Gary) I've got you, Gary! Plankton: Peek-a-boo, here comes my foot! (steps on SpongeBob and Gary) Huh? (lifts his foot from paın) Yow!!! SpongeBob: (looking like a thumbtack) I think he's got the point. (laughs) Plankton: (as Plankton's voice gets higher and higher until he goes back to his normal size) Whoa! (three burnt fish walk up to Plankton looking mad) Well, I guess I've got some explaining to do, huh? (fish on left lifts his foot about to stomp on Plankton) No! No! No! Not the face! (gets stepped on gets squished. Wakes up screaming and his dream cloud pops, making dream SpongeBob fall out and plops on the ground) SpongeBob: Ooh! (SpongeBob walks home into his own dream cloud where his real self is still sleepıng) Ah, that was fun and all, but it's good to be back in my own dream cloud. (goes to sleepıng) Ah....(wakes up after hearing his friends voices and faces hovering around his head) Squidward: SpongeBob! SpongeBob: Huh? Mr. Krabs: SpongeBob! Sandy: SpongeBob! Squidward: SpongeBob! Mr. Krabs: SpongeBob! SpongeBob: What do you want from me? Leave me alone! (wakes up from Squidward shaking him) No! No, no, no, no! Squidward: SpongeBob! (wakes SpongeBob up) SpongeBob: Ahh!! (friends stand around his bed, except Patrick came late) What are you all doing in your pyjamas? Are we having a slumber party? Squidward: No. We are not having a slumber party! Sandy: Do us all a favour SpongeBob, and stay out of our dreams! (everyone agrees) Patrick: [walks in] Does anyone have a quarter?

March 26, 2012 Sleep talking, or somniloquy, is the act of speaking during sleep. It can be gibberish or resemble normal speech. Sleep talkers usually seem to be talking to themselves. The utterances can take place occasionally causing people to call out, speak, or produce incoherent language during sleep. People can sometimes act out on their dreams depending on where they are in their sleep cycle. Sleep talking may also occur during transitory arousals when a sleeper transitions from one stage of sleep to another whilst asleep. Sleep talking episodes are typically brief. Most sleep talking takes the form of short phrases, moans, or mumbling. The central symptom of sleep talking is audible expression that occurs during sleep without the person being aware of it happening. It can be gibberish or resemble normal speech. With sleep talking, you may not necessarily be forming coherent words or sentences.

r/shortscarystories 13 hr. ago S_G_Woodhouse I think I'm losing my head I was driving home after a long day at work. I blinked, and the next thing I knew, I was at home having dinner with my wife and 2 daughters. "What's wrong honey" she asked me. "I don't know. I just feel like I've forgotten something" I replied, confused. Forgot something? It was much worse than that, I had no memory of going home. I reassured her and spent the rest of the evening as normal, re-watching one of my favorite movies. Eventually, I dozed off. I dreamt strange things. I saw myself, having a picnic with my parents. Except they weren't smiling and happy like I remembered them. Instead, they were sitting on the picnic blanket, staring into space, their faces closed and expressionless. No matter how much I shouted at them in my daze, I couldn't see any life left in them; it was as if they were there, without being there. Detached. I woke up in my bed, alone. I looked all over the house, but not only was my wife gone, so were my children. My cell phone line was dead, no service. I went outside to get my car and drive to work, thinking I'd try to call my wife a little later. There was no one on the road but me. It was as if the whole Earth had emptied out. I'd dismissed my detachment last night, but I was seriously beginning to wonder if I was losing my mind. I was lost. I decided to go to my work to see if anyone was still in town, if a national evacuation drill was underway and could explain everything. Once there, I rushed back into the building, hoping to find someone who could explain what was going on. And when I opened the door, I was relieved to see that all my colleagues were there. At last, I could find out what was going on. I walked over to a colleague who over the years had become my best friend. "Hey, what's going on? My family's disappeared and there's nobody left in town," I asked him. He didn't answer. I stepped forward to face him, and discovered to my horror that his face and expression were detached exactly the same as my parents' in my dream. It couldn't be, was I trapped in a nightmare? I tried to talk to everyone, but they were all in the same state. My head hurt, my eyes hurt. I saw lights, and sounds filled my ears even though there was nothing here. Nothing alive. My vision began to narrow. Sounds began to blend together. Blackness. Emptiness. And finally, words I didn't have time to understand came to me for the last time. "The driver is dead, his head was torn off by the impact."

short horrorcore story: the clock read 12:07am, way too long from when i was supposed to be in bed. trying to run away from the sock puppet my friend and i thought was innocent, but now a monster. i was trying to hide from "FRED," the creepy puppet now chasing me. and then i couldn't find my friend, brody. "BRODY?!" i called out. "WHERE ARE YOU!?" i checked up in his room he shared with me, and i saw Brody. He was corrupted by that horrible puppet monster. Black ooze was coming out of his mouth and eyes, glitch-like pixels inside them. his head was turning to odd angles, and the glasses he had were broken, but still on him. "B-Brody? What did that monster do to you...?" I asked. And then, my vision went black, glitches inside them, and static screens. "NO! NO! NO!" I cried, trying to fight the corruption. But I couldn't take it anymore, and then I fainted on the floor, black ooze coming out of me.
